DVRA will participate in the annual ARRL Field Day, the premier on-the-air event for radio amateurs across North America. Part picnic, part emergency drill, and part informal contest, Field Day highlights the versatility of amateur radio.
Event Schedule
- Setup: Saturday, June 27 at 12:00 PM
- Operations Begin: Saturday, June 27 at 2:00 PM (open to public 2-5 pm)
- Operations End: Sunday, June 28 at 12:00 PM
➡️ Please use the sign-up sheet.
We will construct and operate three temporary stations on the grounds of the W2ZQ shack, powered entirely by generators to simulate emergency conditions. Our focus is threefold:
- Constructing and operating temporary stations.
- Honing operating skills in abnormal situations in less-than-optimal conditions.
- Connecting with fellow club members.
Food will be available throughout the event on both Saturday and Sunday. Whether you are a veteran operator or just curious about the hobby, we encourage you to stop by, see the stations in action, and participate.
Bring a friend! Field Day will be open to the public Saturday, 2 to 5 p.m.
