RF Interference: Learn to identity the root causes and remedies

On Wednesday, October 11th, 2023, the Delaware Valley Radio Association’s monthly membership meeting featured a presentation by Bob Brehm, AK6R titled “RF Interference: Learn to identity the root causes and remedies”.

In person monthly meetings are held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W Upper Ferry Rd, Ewing Township, NJ 08628 (Driving Directions). For the convenience of our members, these meetings are also hosted on Zoom. Members will receive an email with instructions on how to join the Zoom teleconference. Members of the public are invited to request conference credentials by sending a message to webmaster@w2zq.com.

Every ham at one point or another (and some always) has had to contend with interference caused by their own equipment or by someone or something in the environment.  Questions about this subject are often raised during the Tech Net Sunday evenings or at club meetings.  Bob Brehm AK6R, Chief Engineer of Palomar Engineers has spent a career helping hams address this and related problems.  

Bio: Bob Brehm, AK6R is Chief Engineer of Palomar Engineers (www.Palomar-Engineers.com), and has been a ham for over 50 years with experience in contesting, RTTY, Amplitude Modulation, vintage radio restoration, boat anchors, linear amps and unique antennas. He is active on 3.870 AM and 3.895 Vintage SSB, the Saturday swap net on 7.240 as well as other nets offering his expertise to new and old hams alike.

Bob Brehm is often asked to speak at conventions and radio club meetings about RFI, antenna matching, using baluns, stealth antennas, amplitude modulation, RTTY/digital modes, ESSB, ham radio on boats, and a variety of other subjects. 

Our monthly meetings are open to the public. Feel free to join for all or part of each meeting.
