On Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, the Delaware Valley Radio Association monthly meeting will feature a presentation titled “How to Achieve DXCC and other Awards” presented by Greg Mauro, K3EA.
Operating awards can provide motivation for “Getting on the Air”. The presentation will detail the criteria for earning operating awards and present practical goals and strategies, as well as operating tips and aids. Additionally, the Awards program process will be described, along with discussion on QSL cards and electronic confirmations.
Greg (K3EA) was first licensed as a Novice in 1976, during his freshman year of college, as WB3EJC. After upgrading, he acquired his current call sign in 1978. Optimal conditions during solar cycle 21 sparked an early interest in DX-ing. His other ham radio interests include kit building, home brewing, digital mode operating, antenna construction, VHF/UHF operating, HF mobile and portable operating, He is currently QRV on 1.8 MHz through 440 MHz from his home station. Greg joined the DVRA in 2016 and is currently serving as club Secretary.
