A Call for Volunteers! – New Jersey Triathlon

The New Jersey State Triathlon returns this year on July 20th and 21st and our club has been asked to assist in running a communications net for the Bicycle portion of the event. DVRA members have assisted at this event for the past 15 years, stationed at communications checkpoints along the bicycle route.

Please consider volunteering this July on one or both days if possible. The Triathlon will begin and end at Mercer County Park, with the cycling segment circling the park along its surrounding public roads.

If you have haven’t volunteered at previous Triathlons, we’ll provide you with all the information you need to help. All you’ll need is a handheld 2-meter radio with enough battery power to get you through the morning. The Triathlon is a short event. We usually finish by noon on both days.

If you can volunteer this year, please reply to our Special Events director Steve Costanzo (scamtk@aol.com) confirming what days you can help. CGI Racing will donate $25 per day to our club for each volunteer who assists at this event. We need 15 – 20 people each day to fill a shift so please consider volunteering on both days if possible.
