At our April Membership Meeting, Steve Weigold KF8KI, a lead software developer for QRZ.com, will give give a presentation on one of the most vital platforms in amateur radio. As a key member of the QRZ.com technical team, Steve will provide a unique “behind-the-scenes” look at the site’s digital infrastructure and the evolution of its services.
The presentation will trace the history of QRZ.com from its origins as the “Callsign Project” on the rec.ham-radio newsgroup under founder Fred Lloyd, AA7BQ, to its current status as a global hub for logging, awards, and community forums. Steve will also offer insights into the future of the platform and its ongoing commitment to the hobby.
The session will conclude with a Q&A, offering a rare opportunity to engage directly with the developers behind the tools we use every day. Be sure to bring your questions!
Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W Upper Ferry Rd, Ewing Township at 7:00 pm EST.
The meetings are well-attended; members are encouraged to join.
