Join us for a fascinating exploration of the 1979 World Administrative Radio Conference, a moment that fundamentally reshaped the Amateur Radio landscape. We will examine the relationship between the ITU and IARU that secured the 30m, 17m, and 12m WARC bands, providing relief from spectrum congestion and expanding Amateur Radio communication opportunities.
This presentation details frequency allocations and the unique “no-contest” tradition that defines these bands today. We’ll take a closer look at 17 meters, sometimes called “The Easy Band,” as an ideal entry point for Amateurs new to the WARC bands. The presentation concludes with an update on the latest changes to the more recently acquired 60m band.
Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W Upper Ferry Rd, Ewing Township at 7:00 pm EST.
The meetings are well-attended; members are encouraged to join.
Meetings are also broadcast via Zoom. A link is sent via email each month.
