EchoLink and VoIP Linking for Amateur RadioGeneral: Membership Meeting – July 9th

On Wednesday, July 9th 2025, the Delaware Valley Radio Association monthly meeting will feature a presentation titled “EchoLink and VoIP Linking for Amateur RadioGeneral” by Jonathan Taylor, K1RFD.

This is an introduction to the EchoLink system and its software, as well as an overview of other popular VoIP systems currently in use.

Jonathan Taylor, K1RFD, has been licensed since 1974, and over the years has been involved in CW traffic handling, FM repeaters, contesting, homebrewing, and software.

In 2002, he developed and released the first versions of the EchoLink software, for joining Amateur Radio stations together over the Internet. The system now runs on four platforms and has more than 350,000 validated users in 160 countries around the world.

Jonathan is a retired corporate executive, who had a long career as as a software engineer and system architect, after having served as a radio announcer in New York City.

There will be a Pizza/Social Hour prior to the meeting at 6PM. Folks are asked to bring their own (soft) beverage.There is no charge for the pizza, but we do ask folks to give what they wish to help cover the cost.

In person monthly meetings are held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W Upper Ferry Rd, Ewing Township, NJ 08628 (Driving Directions). We encourage you to attend the meetings in-person, but this meeting will also be hosted on Zoom for those who cannot. Members will receive an email with instructions on how to join the Zoom teleconference. Members of the public are invited to request conference credentials by sending a message to webmaster@w2zq.com.

Our monthly meetings are open to the public. Feel free to join for all or part of each meeting.
