DVRA Nets are now on the 440 MHz repeater

The 440 repeater is situated at 840 feet on the tower adjacent to the Quaker Bridge Mall and provides an increased coverage area for our nets.  To access the repeater, set your receiver to 442.650 MHz with a +5 MHz transmit offset and a PL tone of 131.8 Hz

With the greater coverage it is now much easier to join our nets:

The Tech Net is held every Sunday night at 9pm.

DVRA will host its second IARU-Style Fox Hunting Session of the 2024 season.  IARU-Style is an on-foot fox hunt where multiple foxes are released into the woods for hunters to find – Think: orienteering with radios.

2024 ARRL International Digital Contest

The 2024 ARRL International Digital Contest is coming up on the weekend of June 1 – 2, from 2 PM local time on Saturday through 8 PM Sunday.  We will be operating once again from W2ZQ.  We garnered a 2nd place showing in 2023 and are looking for #1 this year !

2024 Annual ARRL Field Day – June 22-23rd

The DVRA will once again participate in the annual ARRL Field day.  The ARRL Field Day is the single most popular on-the-air event held annually in the US and Canada. 

On the fourth full weekend in June, thousands of radio amateurs gather with their clubs, groups or simply with friends to operate from remote locations.

DVRA IARU-Style Fox Hunt Report – 5/5/2024

Rain was predicted for our first Sunday morning Fox Hunt but if you opted out due to the threatening weather, I’m sorry, you didn’t learn from last October’s event and … you missed another good one.

Two hunters gathered at Veterans Park in Hamilton to take part in DVRA’s first IARU-Style fox hunt of the 2024 season.

Antenna Construction Event – 6 Meter Moxon  

The Antenna committee will hold an construction event on Saturday May 11th, 2024 at 10am at the W2ZQ station.  We will discuss, design, and construction techniques for Moxon beam antennas.  This will be followed by the construction and testing of an antenna that will be used for Field Day.

Members of the DVRA, the Delaware Valley Radio Association, operated a Special Event Station to mark the 87th anniversary of the crash of the German airship Hindenburg, May 6, 1937 at Lakehurst, N.J.

Spring Cleanup at the Shack on April 13th

We’ve scheduled our annual spring cleanup event at the DVRA shack for April 13th.

If you can help this year, please wear your work clothes, and bring a shovel, brush clippers or pruning saw if you can. Weather permitting, we may also do some painting. We’ll start at  9am.
