On Wednesday, June 11th 2025, the Delaware Valley Radio Association monthly meeting will feature a presentation titled “Voice Over Internet Protocol Weather Net” by Dennis Dura, K2DCD.
The VoIP Weather Net brings together the capabilities of SKYWARN and the Hurricane Watch Net, leveraging Echolink, IRLP, and other VoIP technologies to assist in saving lives. By identifying severe weather conditions in real time, the The VoIP Weather Net plays a crucial role in relaying critical general localized weather observations and event information to both the National Hurricane Center and the National Weather Service.
Dennis Dura, K2DCD, Assistant Director of Operations, will present a comprehensive overview of the VoIP WX Net to the Delaware Valley Radio Association (DVRA). The session will feature an introductory message via Zoom from Rob Macedo, KD1CY, Director of Operations.
There will be a Pizza/Social Hour prior to the meeting at 6PM. Folks are asked to bring their own (soft) beverage.There is no charge for the pizza, but we do ask folks to give what they wish to help cover the cost.
In person monthly meetings are held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W Upper Ferry Rd, Ewing Township, NJ 08628 (Driving Directions). We encourage you to attend the meetings in-person, but this meeting will also be hosted on Zoom for those who cannot. Members will receive an email with instructions on how to join the Zoom teleconference. Members of the public are invited to request conference credentials by sending a message to webmaster@w2zq.com.
