On Wednesday, February 8th, the Delaware Valley Radio Association monthly meeting featured a presentation by Greg Mauro, K3EA titled “Operating for Success”. Key areas of station equipment and performance, as well as operating technique and operating aids were discussed. In person monthly meetings are held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W Upper Ferry Rd, Ewing Township, NJ 08628 (Driving Direction). For the convenience of our members, these meetings are also hosted on Zoom. Members will receive an email with instructions on how to join the Zoom teleconference. Members of the public are invited to request conference credentials by sending a message to webmaster@w2zq.com.
Greg was first licensed as a Novice in the fall of 1976, during his freshman year of college. After upgrading, he acquired his current call sign in 1978. Optimal conditions during solar cycle 21 sparked an early interest in DXing. His station log is filled with over 20,000 contacts on all modes, including CW, SSB, digital modes and Satellite. He has earned operating awards for Worked All States, DX Century Club and Worked All Zones.
Greg’s other ham radio interests include kit building, home brewing, antenna construction, VHF/UHF operating, HF mobile, portable operating, and QSL card collecting. He is currently QRV on 1.8 Mhz through 1296 Mhz from his home station.
Greg joined the DVRA in 2016 and is currently serving on the Board of Directors as the immediate Past President.
